France Gall

France Gall (1947-2018) began her career in the 60’s during the “yéyé” era. She became famous with her song “Sacré Charlemagne”. She then gained an international fame when she won the Eurovision Song Contest (for Luxembourg) with her song Poupée de cire, poupée de son, written by Serge Gainsbourg. She had an affair with the famous singer Claude François (who sung “Comme d’habitude” about their story). Then she lived with another singer, Julien Clerc. But then she met the singer Michel Berger in the 70’s, who would become her partner in life but also in music, as he wrote many songs for her. Nowadays, she is more famous for this era of her career, which can be described as her musical maturity. But when Michel Berger died unexpectedly in the 90’s, she ended up leaving the public sphere.
