Indochine is one of the most famous and commercially successful French rock bands, and their songs are regularly played in French parties. The band was formed in 1981 and is still active today. They are influenced by new wave, but they made it accessible to a larger public. Which makes some people say that they’re not real rock, but I don’t agree with them, because it still has this rock touch, and its “popular” aspect doesn’t take away their skill.

A very famous trio of humorists, Les Inconnus (= The Unknown, which they definitiely aren’t in France), made a parodic clip about them, called “Isabelle a les yeux bleus” (Isabelle has blue eyes), making fun of the band’s lyrics and attitude. I just translated the beginning of the “song” in itself, if you want the rest of the sketch, don’t hesitate to ask !
