Léo Ferré (1916-1993) is one of the most famous French singers. He was also a poet and orchestra conducer. His career began in the 1940’s but the success began in the 1950’s. He composed his own songs but also songs for other people. His songs are very diverse, and most of them have great lyrics. Léo Ferré, when he sang, seemed really inhabited by the music. His anarchist views also had an impact on his work.
