Yves Montand (1921-1991) is not only a famous singer but also a very famous French-Italian actor. He played in numerous famous movies alongside movies stars like Romy Schneider, Louis de Funès, Jean Gabin, Simone Signoret (his wife), Michel Piccoli and even Marilyn Monroe, with whom he had a brief affair when they acted together in Lets’ Make Love (George Cukor) in 1960. But it’s his success in the music hall that opened him the way into cinema.
