Noir Désir is one of the most famous rock bands. They were formed in 1980 and active until 2003. Their songs are inspired by the punk movement and their lyrical content is very politically charged (against capitalism, globalization, fascism). The story of the band ended in 2003 when their singer, Bertrand Cantat, was condemned for the murder of his girlfriend Marie Trintignant.
