France, as you probably know, is a very political country, where people protest and demonstrate very often (like really often). Like this young demonstrator who is vigorously throwing a cobble at the police during the events of May 68 in Paris, many people in France, and especially many artists, express their opinions and wish they had a significant role in the political sphere. This is why throughout the history of French songs, several artists made of their art a way to talk about the current -or former- state of the world, sometimes in a very political and committed way, like a sort of metaphorical grenade. So I thought it would be appropriate to make a page about this subject, since it can also give you a glimpse of French political history.
