This great song, written by Alain Souchon and composed by Laurent Voulzy as usual, is a “mix” of great English or American rock songs and artists, meant as a tribute. Most of these standards have already been covered numerous times by French people (with their lyrics translated into French) but this is the first time that there’s a “patchwork” of several pieces of songs to create a new one. It’s a nostalgic recollection (hence the name of the song, with a pun in it) of being a teenager and rock fan in the 60’s. Enjoy !
There’s several versions of different lengths, so I’m gonna translate the lyrics I found, which sticks to the full version.
And after the translation I’ll put the list of the songs quoted 😉

Notes :
- There’s a little game with French translations of English bands in this songs (see the Stones too).
- Luis Mariano was a very famous French singer especially in the 1940’s and 1950’s. For the youth in the 60’s, he kind of represented the epitomy of “has been” music for grown-ups, in opposition with the modernity of the new rock music.
